Two Year Olds
In the Dragonflies, Imagination takes flight amid outdoor adventures and lively storytelling.

Two-year-olds are natural explorers, eager to learn through movement, imaginative play, and meaningful connection. In our Dragonflies classroom, we nurture their curiosity and independence with a thoughtful blend of hands-on, child-led discovery and playful structure—helping each child develop confidence, creativity, problem-solving abilities, and early academic skills in a joyful, supportive environment. With a low 1:5 ratio and an emphasis on curiosity-led learning, children thrive as they strengthen language, motor abilities, and self-awareness through engaging, developmentally rich experiences.

Twos Curriculum
Two-year-olds are busy building their understanding of the world—and themselves. In this classroom, learning happens through purposeful play, active exploration, and growing social connection. Early academics are gently woven into each day through circle time, storytelling, music, and dramatic play. Children begin exploring foundational academic concepts including letters, numbers 1–10, colors, shapes, weather, and days of the week—all introduced in ways that feel playful, natural, and exciting. Communication blossoms through bilingual exposure to English and Spanish, group interactions, cooperative play, and rich vocabulary-building activities. Fine motor skills are supported through creative expression such as painting, early writing tools, and tactile exploration like sensory bins and craft.
Students at this age are eager to investigate, create, and develop new abilities. Social-emotional growth is a big focus this year as children learn how to share, cooperate, express feelings, and care for others within a nurturing, emotionally attuned setting. Children also practice simple routines like tidying, hand-washing, and classroom transitions to build independence and confidence in their abilities. Potty training support is offered in partnership with families, as children begin showing interest and readiness. There will be frustrations and tears, but the children will be gaining the skills necessary to form positive social relationships in a supportive environment. While every day brings new adventures, our greatest goal is to foster a deep love of learning, trust in oneself, and joyful connection to the world around them.
