Pre-K/Four Year Olds
Our Butterflies are ready to soar — preparing for kindergarten with a strong sense of self, belonging, and joy, while building early skills in writing, pre-reading, phonics, science, and math through our thoughtful, play-based curriculum.

In our Butterflies class, four-year-olds take flight—gaining confidence, curiosity, and the skills needed to soar into kindergarten and beyond. With a low 1:9 ratio, children receive individualized support as they build on previous knowledge, strengthen core academic skills, and deepen their love of learning through rich, hands-on experiences in a positive, friendly environment.

Pre-K Fours Curriculum
The Butterflies class is a dynamic, engaging environment where learning becomes both meaningful and memorable. We begin the year by reinforcing key concepts from the three-year-old classroom—colors, geometric shapes, name writing, and numbers 1–30—through creative and playful activities that promote recall and mastery.
As the year progresses, students dive into deeper academic content. During interactive Circle Time, children explore calendar routines, tally marks, place value, and counting by 2s, 5s, and 10s—all while working toward mastery of numbers up to 100. Early math concepts like addition and subtraction are introduced through games, storytelling, and manipulatives that make learning concrete and fun.
Language and literacy development continue to blossom. Children build reading readiness through shared pen activities, phonics games, writing exercises, and peer-led story moments that foster both confidence and communication. Students refine upper- and lowercase letter formation, sound-letter connections, and begin reading simple words and sentences.
Throughout the week, children explore science, social studies, art, and Spanish through inquiry-based projects and thematic play. From nature walks and weather observations to group experiments and cultural celebrations, learning is active, relevant, and joyful.
This is a big year—and our Butterflies rise to the challenge in a nurturing, nature-infused environment that celebrates every milestone. By year’s end, many children are reading, writing, and ready to take the next leap—with hearts full of confidence and minds ready for more.
