Transitional Threes
Confident Little Lizard explorers bask in opportunity, independence, and hands-on learning.

Our Little Lizards class supports children around ages 2.5 to 3 years as they grow in independence, potty readiness, and classroom engagement. This transitional stage between toddlerhood and preschool, nurtures your child’s confidence, curiosity, and emerging self-help skills in a calm, playful, and developmentally appropriate environment.

Transitional Threes Curriculum
The Little Lizards class is designed for children who are eager to do things “all by myself” while still needing support and encouragement. This age is rich with growth in independence, language, and emotional awareness. Our teachers guide children through early self-care skills—such as pulling up and down clothing, washing hands, and using the potty—with warmth, patience, and partnership with families. Most children are in pull-ups and showing readiness for potty learning, which we support with consistency, encouragement, and a no-pressure approach as they transition at their own pace. Throughout the day, children engage in joyful learning experiences that build early language, social skills, and emotional regulation. Foundational academic concepts—like colors, shapes, weather, and numbers—continue to be strengthened through songs, stories, sensory play, and group activities. Art, music, movement, and outdoor adventures nurture creativity, motor development, and connection to the natural world. With predictable routines and responsive teaching, our Little Lizards gain confidence in themselves and their abilities—laying the foundation for a joyful leap into preschool.
